MUMBAI: 15 Dec, Private Matters – Politics and Sexuality in Performance
About the event:
Where do the public and private intersect in performance? How do artists infuse their practice with their politics? Dance Dialogues and Godrej India Culture Lab invite you to ‘Private Matters – Politics and Sexuality in Performance’.
As part of the Mumbai tour of Queen-size, choreographer Mandeep Raikhy’s provocative dance response to section 377, this event will bring together three artists and activists in a compelling discussion about queer associations with socio-political concerns through an artistic practice.
The evening will begin with a clip of Queen-size. This will be followed by a panel discussion. Dancer and choreographer Mandeep Raikhy, Dancing Queens founding member Urmi Jadhav and Sonal Giani from Agents of Ishq, will be in conversation with moderator Parmesh Shahani, head at Godrej India Culture Lab.
Date & time: Thursday, December 15, 2016 at 5 PM.
Venue: Godrej India Culture Lab, Godrej One, Pirijshanagar, Vikhroli East, Mumbai
