Delhi, Bangalore mark Gay Pride

A thousand people each marched in Delhi and Bangalore on Sunday to mark Gay Pride. The LGBT community, their friends, families and supporters marched in the annual Pride parades with rainbow flags, banners and placards showing their support for the cause.
In Delhi, people marched down from Barakhamba Road to Jantar Mantar. Many foreigners also attended the parade. The gathering celebrated at Jantar Mantar and speakers talked about ending discrimination against the LGBT community and harassment faced due to Police insensitivity.
In IT city Bangalore, marchers walked from Majestic to the Town Hall. Many corporate organizations like IBM and Goldman Sachs showed their support for their LGBT employees by sending in their LGBT support groups.
The Pride parade in Bangalore was also preceded by a week of festivities, events and workshops, including a ‘Diversity Mela’ on Saturday that showcased the cultural talent of the city’s gay community
