1 Mumbai

Mumbai still remains the undisputed gay capital of India with its history of gay activism (Bombay Dost and Gay Bombay), an increasingly attractive International Film Gay film festival buoyed by the local Bollywood industry, a hip party scene that’ll keep you wondering where to spend your weekend and the center of gay business- from books to merchandize stores.

Good Pics – they represent each city aptly.
the info given above is true only for the affluent, westernised and educated elite.i travel between bangalore and hyderabad- and the sadness, the misery, the alienation and loneliness of the middle class indian gays is truly heartbreaking.the cruising places have disappeared and those who cannot afford the price of online hook-ups(or distrust the lies and the half-lies of the cyber dating) and also cannot afford the steep price of gay parties – or find them a waste -given the snootiness and the stay-at an arms length-don’t come too close (unless u r young and sexy or old and rich) mentality of these parties are truly left in the lurch and feeling alone and alienated – not only from the straight crowd but also from the gay one. no one gives a damn if u are not young/sexy/rich. most of the gay groups are no better – latching on to the well off-westernised -foreign travelled/returned professionals crowd for upward mobility and growth -totally ignoring the poor and middle class/middle aged/older gays -all the while spouting a borrowed straight from the west / ready made speech which neither fits the indian ethos nor is of any use to the indian gays. all this hype is only for the gays who read self congratulatory and self-deluded spiel printed in these pages.please come to these cities and without using ur well -written up info base-try on ur own to find gays to meet and talk with and share a life with and u will realise that out there three’s a mass of desperate and depressed gays trying hard to survive and go on with their lives – about whom the well funded and well heeled gay groups and guys are totally apathetic.all these advances and advantages are available only to the rich and the well off and the well educated.Go ahead and party guys -u dont owe any body anything.u have no obligations to anything except hedonism and non-stop pleasure.but there are gays out there who read and laugh at ur self deluded and pink coloured glass perceived renaisance of the indian gay culture.
Hi,
The pictures are good. I totally endorse the views/opinions expressed by reader ” feng” above . He has spelt the heart of majority gays in India. Only a minority are able to surface. Hope time changes for the majority too.
cool.
